The image reveals a remarkable range of subtle colours on Pluto's surface, including pale blues, yellows, oranges, and deep reds. These distinct colours correspond to various landforms and provide insights into Pluto's complex geological and climatological history. The image resolution allows scientists to study details and colours on scales as small as 0.8 miles.
